Sage Lodge

#9 in Best Montana Hotels

Described by recent guests as a “peaceful paradise,” Sage Lodge is an ideal retreat for Yellowstone National Park visitors seeking luxurious accommodations. Set along the banks of the Yellowstone River in Pray, Montana, about 30 miles north of the park’s edge, Sage Lodge offers easy access to a variety of activities, including fly fishing excursions, scenic rafting trips and tours of Yellowstone, all available for an additional fee. Back at the lodge, guests have access to a spa, a fitness center and two restaurants that overlook Paradise Valley. Reviewers were particularly pleased with the drinks served at The Grill. But visitors were most impressed with the accommodations. Travelers can take their pick between lodge guest rooms or free-standing ranch houses. Lodge guest rooms start at 420 square feet and come equipped with gas fireplaces, balconies or patios, separate sitting areas and walk-in showers. Alternatively, Ranch Houses sleep up to 16 guests (split between four rooms) and include full kitchens, dining and living areas and outdoor fireplaces. Aside from the location and the interiors, past lodgers heaped praise on the staff members, describing them as warm and attentive.
